Question: ...will eating a very minimal diet with only the necessary nutrients and fiber extend life span?
Answers: I have heard similar things but mostly it is with reptiles. They have the ability to go a very long time without eating but they are also capable of slowing down their heartbeats tremendously. Alligators can actually slow down their heartbeats to 1-2 beats per minute. So their body is almost doing nothing and doesnt require energy also. Probably the reason why reptiles like turtles are the longest living animals on earth.
It is proven that if you allow your body to fast it quickly relieves it of toxins...the more toxins in your body the faster that you will die...It isnt the slow metabolism that you want though. With a slow metabolism you break down food slower which would be good if food werent so readily available...A slow digestion means more fecal matter inside your body which will cause health issues. The cdc states that 85% of all deaths in the u.s are because of slow digestion. The best thing you can do for your body is to eat the very least that you need of whole foods and fruit and water.
I am 21 I was sick and had IBS (irratable bowl syndrome) the doctors told me that Id have to be on medicine and to take laxatives...but ive never been one to just get one opinion so I took things into my own control...mostly out of my financial situation. I got a ultimate cleanse which is an all herbal digestive therapy...It cleaned me out immediately. Currently I am on a water/juice fast. I have lost more belly fat than I have after jogging for 1 month...If im really achy then I may have a bowl of vegie soup. Some doctors unfortunately will prescribe a pill becauses it is attached to a paycheck rather than tell you that you need to eat less, exercise more, and eat healthier...The best thing to do is ask the doctor what he eats...I gurantee they arent going to McDonalds

Eat healthy, stay healthy. Don't eat minimum eat adequate and balanced. Food is the fuel that keeps you going like the gas for a car. Without it, the car would stop. Without it for you, you'd stop. The first thing that will suffer is your immune system and if that stays down and you get any kind of sickness, it will be more severe and last longer. Don't forget about water. It's the most important item of your diet. Proper balance of food and lots of water and you'll glow, from the inside out. You'll notice a nice difference.
