I am very skinny and want to increase my weight/fats.??
Question: I am 5'8 in and weigh 52 kgs(114 pounds). 26 years of age and a pure vegetarian. i reside in mumbai india and have been thin all my life. My weight is constant from almost 8-9 yrs now. I never have my breakfast though. What are the things I should concentrate on for diet? Should i first try to put on weight by diet or would gym be the ideal choice? What should I do. No matter how much i eat there is no difference to my body. A detailed response would be appreciated.
Answers: 1) if u got the money, mcdonalds for 2 weeks and gym time for 1
2) Meat damnit, if ur a got damn vegetarin no wonder ur so skinny
you are gonna have weight problems no matter what if you a vegetarian, but there are some things you can do. short of steroids, the gym will get you bigger but slowly. being a vegetarian you cant eat meat but you can eat stuff that is high in carbs like potatoes and pasta. that will help you get bigger by working out because it gives you more energy. but if you want fat weight the best way to do that is to eat avocado because that is a fruit that is very high in fat and yes it is a fruit. i have been skinny all my life and the way that i got bigger was to take protein and work out. protein you but at stores can be made from 2 things dairy or soy. since your a vegetarian you cant use the dairy based stuff called whey. the other is soy protein and unless you are a female then you wont get bigger from that. my personal sugestion is the gym. it is the only way to keep gaining weight and keep it at a constant. but it will take awhile so dont get discourged if you start losing weight at first because you will gain it right back.
Body size is a factor of many things, from your genetics to your eating habits and fitness level.
You should not skip breakfast, this is the most important meal of they day. You certainly need to drink first thing in the morning. Juice or semi-skimmed milk is good. Cereal with semiskimmed milk is an excellant way to start your day, if you can get hold of shredded wheat or oats (porridge) then go for that. Otherwise scrambled egg made with semi milk.
I usually opt for a smoothie - fruit juice, low fat yoghurt, semi skimmed milk, raw egg and fruit or veg with flax seed. Add to water, makes a big brekkie.
Other foods, fish, rice, pulses, grains, nuts, raw fruit and veg. eat little and often and drink plenty.
I was prsuming that you were not vegan, vegetarian means something different to everyone. Obviously you'll have to cut the eggs, fish and diary and substitue with soy or rice milk or oatymilk. But then you will need to watch your salt levels more carefully.
It all depends on what kidn of weight you want to put on. If its muscle, then do push ups and situps, and lift weights. If its fat or curve (im assuming you're a woman), than just eat lots of grease until you fill out. Minimal salad
