Question: Ive heard you can put an asprin on it but i dont have one. And also will it go down if i put a pain reliever on it?

Thanks
Answers: Home remedies (there are tons... banana skin, vinegar, potatoes...) are old wives tales. Warts sometimes disappear on their own, so some people who put random kitchen products on theirs will see them disappear and assume it was what they did, but in reality it wasn't.

Warts are caused by a virus called the Human Papillomavirus, or HPV for short. It lives inside the cells, so trying to smother it from the outside with vaseline as one person suggested won't work. If it goes away, it will be because it was about to go away anyway.

There are a number of over-the-counter products, such as Dr. Scholl's wart removing pads, that use salicylic acid to kill the wart (and any other skin it touches). I didn't have much success with this when I had a few warts. Removing the dead layers would leave it raw and painful, and by the time the skin healed enough for another application it would have grown back! There are also at-home cryotherapy kits now. I don't know if they work, so I can't recommend either way.

If you really want to get rid of it, the best method is to go to a doctor. They can remove it with surgery, cutting deeper (to try to get all of it) than would be safe to do at home. Do NOT try dangerous methods such as cutting it out or burning it away yourself! You will do more harm than good! Even with medical treatment it might still come back, but I'd say it's worth a try.

The last method is to just wait and let your immune system wage its own war against the wart. Many warts disappear on their own, as mine did. I was actually very close to talking to my doctor about getting my largest one removed when, lo and behold, it suddenly disappeared! The thing had grown for 5 years (all of the smaller ones I'd gotten went away much quicker than that) and then disappeared entirely in less than a week!

Location and size determine whether or not it's worth going out and getting it removed by a doctor. Mine were on the soles of my feet and the sides of my toes, so while I hated them, they weren't painful (some on feet are, so I was lucky) and didn't interfere with my life. If yours are on your hands or another place that gets in the way, though, I suggest you try some over-the-counter products, but if they don't work, go to a doctor.
Compound W works.
THERE'S LIKE THIS DRY ICE CREME OUT THAT IS FOR WARTS. CANT THINK OF THE NAME OF IT, BUT ASK A LOCAL PHARMACIST. (WALGREENS, CVS, ETC..)
They have products to remove warts, such as Compound W. Follow the directions exactly and it should go away.

A doctor told my mother years ago that another way is to keep some sort of ointment (even Vaseline should work) on it all the time, and keep it bandaged. The idea is to keep the air from getting to it. (you'd need to put a glob of Vaseline or whatever on it) As I recall, he described a wart as needing air to survive, and if you deprive it of that, then it dies. It would probably take longer to get rid of it this way, so maybe the Compound W would work better. However, they don't burn them off anymore. They freeze them off with a chemical spray. I've had it done, and it's not bad at all. Quick and easy, and virtually pain free. The wart scabs over after a few days (you need to keep a bandaid over it) and then falls off. If I needed any more off, I'd go that route. But no, aspirin or pain reliever isn't going to do anything for it - sorry!
i have heard that duck tape makes it go away. also clorox, acid, and freezing gets rid of them
