Say that you were held hostage in your house by a small slighty deranged midget hell bent on not letting you go to work the place you love and adore. and that after two days of being tied up and subjected and forced to listen to german fok music 24 hours a day , you were able to break free and run to work, were you will gladly work your 8 hour shift before contacting the police to tell them about this small mad midget wandering the streets
This only works if you live in a flat but I heard it on TV and thought it was ace.
Ring in and say there was a fire or burglary in your block and everyone has to stay in to give statements to the police.
It could probably be adapted to suit.
If you tell them that you have projectile vomiting or cant keep off the toilet you should be fine as long as you dont have to provide a doctors note.
