What could cause blood in stool??
Question: My husband have had stomach aches today after going to the bathroom his stool had blood in it, I mean red, to water was red and soon after her started votoming uncontrolabily, althogh he throw up other times (too often in my opinion), but today it was horrible.
Answers: Blood in the stool could be from hemorrhoids or a tear in the anus area. Vomiting as often has he has could be as simple as a flue to something more complex. He needs to worry about de-hydration if he has vomited that much. Call your doctor.
He either has a bleeding ulcer or he has a tear of some kind in the small intestine colon. There can also be an internal injury of some kind also. He needs to go to the doctor immediately to get checked out. Blood in the stool can be a very serious issue.

frank blood in the stool is never a good thing. is the blood in the stool, or in the bowl? if you can get him to go your husband should see a gastroenterologist. a colonoscopy is a first line diagnostic tool for finding the cause of rectal bleeding, other tests might include blood work, stool cultures. the fact that the blood is red suggests that the problem originates below the level of the stomach.. hemorrhoids, ulcerative colitis, diverticulitis, infection, and colon cancer are all possibilities. vomiting in conjunction with the blood in the stool is more worrisome. is he vomiting blood?
