What is the best advice I can give to him? Is any treatment/center/website or any can help for people with this kind of disability? It’s very sad, he is my best friend and I am very concerning.
Answers: County mental health should have some programs that could help, or know where to refer your friend.
I have similar issues but it sounds like he is working on some depression too. If he isn't responding well to family members or friends for help, suggest a professional to speak with him. It's obvious that he has potential since he was successful in the past.
Your friend is lucky to have you there to support him. I suggest you first take him to see a psychiatrist who can make a proper diagnosis of his condition. He may need some medication and if so, it is important that he take it consistently. Look to see if the meds are working, you should notice by the 6th week, If not, the doctor needs to know so he can switch meds. Finding the right meds can be tricky at first but once the right meds are found you will see some stability. Then your friend needs some coaching to help him create some infrastructure and discipline in his life. You will need to help him stick to it until he can learn how to do it on his own. If you feel you cannot do it alone find help.
