Answers: Talk to a doc or therapist for advice if you can't get the person to go. If they are genuinely paranoid without a reason, they need a genuine professional to help get it under control.

What type of paranoid ideas are they? Does the person think he/she is being poisoned, watched, listened to? Also, have you asked them if they are hearing any voices or do they appear to be responding to internal stimuli (sentences trailing off, looking elsewhere when they are talking to you, cocking their head like they are listening to something, talking to him/herself)? Do they have a history of any mental illness? Are they using any drugs? Could you provide more information?

We have a scitzophrenic uncle. Most important thing is to NOT let them drag you into their world. He will not take the medication, expects others to help him when he is in trouble.
