Answers: Clinical Depression is caused by an imbalance in the chemicals of your brain--most often Seratonin. Without meds, these chemicals remain unbalanced and the Depression remains.

I was Depressed most of my adolescence through adult-hood--even with medications. Depression is a really difficult disorder to treat. Not all people respond to the same medications and it may take a bunch of trials with different meds to find out which one works best.

Other ways to lessen the Depression.. Engage in vigorous activities---by getting the heart rate pumping it creates endorphins (the good feeling chemicals) that race to your brain. I know you don't feel like exercising---but this helps counter the awful feelings.

Also, it is so important to get 7-8 hours of sleep per night and also to maintain a good diet. Depressed people are more sensitive to disruptions in sleep and nutrition.

Keep your stress level down---anxiety often goes hand in hand with Depression.

Think of Depression as more like Diabetes then lets say a cold. With Diabetes (you will always have it) but it can be controlled by taking medications and taking care of yourself.

Depression is often genetic--does a parent, grandparent suffer from the same illness?
It does not go away. It has to be treated so go see your doc if you think you have it.
It doesnt just go away like a cold. This is a mental disorder and you should talk to a counselor about it.
weeks, months, years

depending on the situtation..it varies from person to person

its not exaclty all about time, but what you do to better yourslef in the time you are depressed..like u can jsut say il be undepressed in ...6 weeks i can end when your life adjsuts into a comfortable seeting for you, and other wise, there are prescription medications to lessen the effects fo depression
if its clinical depression, its never gonna heal you will struggle with it for the rest of your life.. just sometimes it wont be as bad
I myself am on antidepressants, sometimes it doesnt go away on its own, but if you need someone to talk to, please do it. Talking to people, friends, anyone that you trust and being open is really important. The bad things will go away and especially the teenage depression, it is also a hormonal thing too. Just know if you need a friend or dont know where to go that I am a email away!!
I didn't know mental illness could heal.
well i have depression and what you need to do is get counling stay off drugs if you are on them because that causes depression and think possitive and hang around the right crowd of people and just relax it depends on what you want to do to help it if you do every thing i would say 1 week to a month
It takes me 6 months or more. I think usually it takes less than a year.
Depeneds. Sometimes you can grow out if it. Sometimes it'll stick with you forever. There isn't really a time line you can go by. Everyone is different.
