How do I find a good Mental Health provider??
Question: I have a list of providers from my insurance company, but I would like to see a review of them first. Is there a website that rates Psychiatrists/Psychologists?
Answers: I don't know of one. But you could look at each person's credentials. Are you looking for a Psychiatrist who can prescribe medication, as Psychologist, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or an LCPC Licensed Clinical Primary Counselor. All do counseling but each has different schooling and methods. I have worked around them all and I have heard and experienced very good things with all of them, but i think it depends on the fit you have with the person. Just pick one on the insurance list and give it a whirl. You can also decide if you'd rather have a male of female therapist. This is sometimes important to people. Good luck!
