Leaving ur contacts in to long????

Question: I leave my contacts in and never take them out can this harm my eyes
Answers: yeap, you can get an infection.
Then you have to leave out you contacts
Bacteria can grow in there if you don't take them out and clean them. You can also over-dry your eyes.
I'm sure there's more... definitely take them out and clean them like the doctor told you!
Yes, that is very dangerous! You need to not wear them more than 8-10 hours a day, and stay out of them at LEAST one day a week. NON compliance can really get you in trouble- if you get an eye infection, you'll be screwed for at least a week. * Hope you have glasses to back up your contacts- and if you dont, that needs to be something you do ASAP!

Selfish overwear also makes your eyes very bloodshot- the eyes build in blood vessels to feed the eye, since you are not folowing your wear regimine.
Depends on what type of contacts you have.. if you have the type you aren't post to sleep in it is very harmfull and you're at a high risk of getting infections or bumps underneath your eyelids that wouldn't allow you to wear contacts anymore. If you have the type that you can leave in at a month at a time you can leave them in a bit over that, as long as you take them out everynow and then to get rid of/ make sure you don't have, protien build up.
Yes, you can get an infection such as Pink Eye, or even an eye ulcer. At first, an ulcer would have similar symptoms to pink eye (conjunctivitis) but then it would begin to hurt and you would have to get cornea surgery! (VERY EXPENSIVE)

It's not like it's that hard to take your contacts out atleast once a week while you sleep for them to be cleaned. Dont they begin to dry out when you wear them too long? It's a smart thing to do, and a safe choice!
my sister got an infection had to take medication. Just from leaving her contacts in.
Yes it can. You should never sleep with them and at least take them out after 8-10 hours. Check with your eye doc, you could do major damage to your eyes. Best of luck.
I would definitely suggest you take them out and clean them daily. Sometimes I go for a few days without taking mine out as well. However, I do try to rinse them daily. Yes, you are taking a risk by not taking them out properly. You can get some kind of infection if you aren't careful. If your eyes begin to get red or itchy, please make sure you take out your contacts. If something gets caught in your eyes, remember to take them out and clean them also. Make sure you wash your hands before dealing with your eyes or contacts. This cuts down on lots of germs. Honestly, I have been wearing contacts for 10 years and I never clean them as much as I should. I have never had an eye infection nor have my eyes gotten worse. I really don't think it's that big of a deal, but there is one thing I have to say: Don't take your eye sight for granted. Once you lose it, it's gone.
Absolutely! Contact lenses prevent oxygen from getting to your eyes which is really essential. In the long run, you may suffer from corneal ulcers which are very painful and you may never be able to wear contact lenses again. So, it is best to give your eyes a break and perhaps wear glasses when contacts aren't necessary and get regular eye exams.
My girlfriend also does this, she'll do it for weeks at a time if not more, and never seems to have anything go wrong, just get a lil dry every now and then
Ouch does it hurt? Are they specially made to leave in all day long?
