Does glasess make yor eyes worse??

Question: ive been using glasses since i was 10 years old..im 13 now and my eyes have become weaker and weaker..i think they actually make your worse than they were before..is this true??
Answers: your vision, during adolescence it will get worse and stabilize when you become an adult. its just the vision worsening.

i don't know if it makes your eyes worse but i didn't wear glasses when i knew i was supposed to for about half a year and my vision did get worse; im finally getting new glasses tomorrow.... there are arguments that wearing glasses makes your eyes weak, but if you don't and you squint it also makes your eyes weaker. idk????.....
Actually, it's not the glasses that are making your eyes weaker. Eyes keep changing perscriptions with age, so you can even expect your eyes to keep getting weaker until you are 20-25 years old.
hi
this is completely false.
do not worry about ur power of glasses, generally at ur age all kids wearing glasses faces the same problem. ur power will go on increasing till ur 21 years old and then it will stabilize, this is due to the genetics and hormonal changes in the body, don not blame ur glasses for that.
glasses r meant to wear bcoz it will prevent ur eyes from straining to see the distant objects. also it will make ur vision clear.
wearing glasses and increase of power has no relation with each other. if u feel that u cant see properly with glasses then go to an optometrist or an ophthalmologist and get ur eyes tested, if necessary they will increase the power of ur eye glasses.
bottom line is do not worry about ur increasing power, its all very normal and it will stop when u reach ur 20's. ok??

i m a qualified optomerist runnin my own optical shop.
glasses don't make your vision weaker; it's your vision itself that gets weaker over time. my vision problem is called keratoconus, where i see a corona around things like the window or computer screen. it's currently uncurable and it gets weaker over time. that's pretty typical with most eye problems. but that's why you should be seeing your eye doctor once or twice a year to get an updated prescription lens to keep up with changes in your vision.

hope this helps!

Glasses are an aid to help you see better. If you don't like your pair of glasses or are having problems with your vision, talk to your parents and let them know so they can take you to the doctor.
No, it's not true. It's just time to go back to your optometrist for another check up. People's eye sight can change pretty drastically over the years. For example, my eye sight has probably gone way downhill since I graduated high school because I've been sitting at a computer at work ever since.
No your eyes will change every time you grow, it is not that your glasses are causeing it, your body is changing.
Glasses do not make your eyes worse. Your eyesight will progress naturally, and your prescription will probably stabilize when you reach your early to mid 20's. So, until, don't worry, your glasses are not making your vision worse, they are helping you.
