10 points what is it like to be on birth control??
Question: I have heavy periods but the question more of it does it really make lighter and reduce cramps can you aslo give me a source of a website to educate me on my options of the names of the pill
Answers: I took Lo-Ovral back in the late 80's for five years and it instantly made my periods less painful, lighter flow and shorter in duration. I was without the pill for 13 years until 2 1/2 years ago when I started having very painful periods and increasingly heavier periods. I finally ended up at the emergency room with uncontrollable bleeding and very large blood clots. I went on Ortho-Tri-Cyclen and have been fine every since that incident. No weight gain and your periods will start every month at the same time within usually a 24 hour period. The overall blood amount will be less, lighter flow and less cramps to virtually none for some people.
My gynecologist also advised me that I could also couple the Ortho with Advil during my period to have even greater relief from the cramps and also even less blood amount. Advil - in and of itself - helps alleviate heavy periods to some extent, but when you combine the two it's very effective for everything I stated above. Just be sure that you don't have a sensitive stomach, because Advil (for some people) can be a little harsh. Always take it with food or milk - 1-2 gelcaps every 6-7 hours works well.
Yes they can help with your heavy mentral cycles, your doctor can help you with the best pill. Im Impessed on the level of research you seem to be planning!!
I am on Ortho-Tricyclin-Lo for my heavy periods, extreme cramps, irregularity.
Here is the site for it: http://www.thepill.com/
Birth control pills do nothing for cramps. I have been on many brands and none of them did anything.
They do lighten your periods, but not immediately. You would have to be on them for at least 7 months for that to take effect.
Yes it does...I used to take ortho-tri cyclen but I gained weight and had to stop....I am now on velivet and it's great...it has made my period lighter and no cramping only a little before my period...google your search just type in birth control pills
It made my flow lighter and you know exactly when you are going to get it!
They do make mine lighter and reduce cramps. There is a new BC out called YAZ. It allows 4 days for you cycle, where as other birth controls allow 7 (though most don't last the entire 7 days). The best thing is if you take it at the same time everyday you can determine exactly when you are going to start every month!
