Loestrin 24 Fe users??

Question: On their website it states that it can cause weight gain and difficulty wearing contacts. Is this true? are there any other pills that can avoid this? I'm interested in loestrin 24 fe because it's all about shorter periods and that's really what i need it for. regulating periods.
Answers: I am not on Loestrin 24. I am on Trinessa (the generic of Ortho Tri-Cyclen). Most birth control bills will state that weight gain as a side effect. I have experienced minimum weight gain (at the most 1 or 2 pounds) on my current pill.

I had a problem with irregular and EXTREMELY long menstrual cycles. They lasted about 14 days on average and were heavy for about 8 of those days. Now, they're consistent and last approximately 4-5 days. I believe any pill should help with this.

With that being said, be prepared if you want to try one of the pills that will make you menstruate less often - such as Seasonale. Your body will take about 3-9 months to get use to these and during that time you will more than likely have spotting. I took Seasonale for 3 months and hated every minute of it. I'm the type of person that wants immediate results.

Your doctor would be able to help you determine the type of method that is best for you. Good Luck.
