What do you think of the birth control nuvaring??
Question: Please only answer if you know what it is and have used it -- Did/do you like it - what side effects are there? I have been to the website - I would just like some user opinions....I am currently taking the pill (microgestin)

Answers: I have been using nuva ring for apx. 2 1/2 years and I would have nothing else!!!! I have had no side effect, but you need to remember everyone is different and not everyone has same side effects. I have never had any discomfort from it and during sex my husband does not even know its there and I don't either. the only thing that bothered me was that first 3 weeks I used it i was concerned about it coming out. It never has fallen out, it was just strange the first time I used it only because I knew nothing about it. When my Doc. told me about it I looked at him like he was stupid or something. I am really glad I gave it a chance. Just try it, no one says you have to keep using it. I would give it more than 1 month try. Like I said, it does seem weird that first month but you will get use to it. Good Luck
I used it and i didn't like it. I found it to be very uncomfortable and i went to using the patch. For side effects.....i didn't get any.....just constantly felt like something was there that didn't belong if ya know what i mean.
I am also on the pill right now -- i used the patch before and got really bad side effects from it -- it made my legs swell really bad and it was noticeable and just weird -- i am going to try the ring soon though....i guess you could always switch back if you didn't like it....
I'v been using it for 6 months now and am absolutely very happy with it. The first 2 months I was a bit grumpy, but I think this was just because I hadn't taken any (hormonal) birthcontrol for years. I have found that there is no wrong way to use this ring, but you do need to make sure it is in far enough or it may be uncomfortable.
My boyfriend can sometimes feel the ring when we're having sex, but he says he likes the way it feels, so no complaints there.
I like this ring a lot better than having to take the pill every day, and you can use it in the same way to control your period (e.g. postpone it when you're going on holiday or something like that).
i used it for a year and really liked it. i'd still be using it if it weren't for two incidents- 1. once it came off, literally around his penis like a ring around the penis kind of thing, and he didn't appreciate it, and 2. it came out during sex and we didn't know, and found it in the sheets when we were making the bed the next day. i had to take emergency contraception.
